About Us

Courtyard

Amberley Village Tea Room opened in September 2008. It is owned and managed by Sue Wood assisted by her daughter Hayley and a small team of staff.

The tea room is located in Amberley, which is set entirely within the Sussex Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and the building itself is a Grade II listed property in a conservation area. Formerly the village slaughterhouse, the building has been sympathetically restored and has a delightful courtyard garden.

At Amberley Village Tea Room we believe in:

Every item of food we serve has been made by us from scratch using good quality ingredients. All our teas and coffees are processed locally, as is all the chocolate we use, and wherever possible our ingredients are purchased from local producers. In addition to this, all our crockery is made at Amberley Village Pottery. When given a choice we always opt for organic and fair-trade supplies. We try to reduce our carbon footprint by sourcing locally, and we keep waste to a minimum by cutting down on packaging and by composting and recycling.
